Blue Nose is a trade name used only by Tommy Toposil and sister company WonderWormsUK for a species originally found in woodland and rich organic farmland usually near to woodland.
Charlie Denham found that these Blue Nosed worms evolved over several generations into the worms we have today that will thrive on almost any biodegradable food waste that has once lived and died.

The Blue Nose worm has been examined by biology experts who have devised the latin name Eisenia Hortensis and also Dendrobeaena Veneta. Whatever its true name, it remains a fantastic worm that will just about eat any waste from farms, kitchens and gardens, and is therefore the worm we recommend for all domestic wormeries.
Blue Nose worms —
When establishing a new wormery, we recommend —
| Number of inoculation packs… | …for an area of up to… |
| 1 Pack | 3 sq. ft or 0.25m2 surface area |
| 2 Packs | 5 sq. ft or 0.5m2 surface area |
| 4 Packs | 10 sq. ft or 1m2 surface area |
Calculations for larger areas can be made with using the basic figures above pro rated.
Each inoculation pack contains a minimum of 1000 mixed-age blue nose worms and packed within 10 lites of safe bedding from our large production beds that our worms are acclimatised to.
If your current wormery isn’t producing as much as you’d like, you can boost productivity by adding some pure Blue Nosed worms. Safe bedding is not needed. Our Blue Nosed worms are compatible with any other species of worms that may already exist in your wormery.
